The Saginaw County Police Chiefs Association has voted to endorse the May 3 proposal to support sheriff’s services. Saginaw County voters are being asked to approve a 1 mill proposal to keep the sheriff’s department operating at its current level.
The Association’s endorsement reads:
“Whereas the entire law enforcement community benefits from having the Saginaw County jail operate at its current full capacity, having the current complement of deputies on road patrol and having the detective bureau continue to investigate crimes, the Saginaw County Police Chiefs Association hereby endorses the sheriff’s services proposal that will appear before Saginaw County voters on May 3.”
The proposal would cost the owner of an $85,000 home, average for Saginaw County, around $42 per year.
